For more than 25 years, Steve Birnbaum has worked with philanthropic organizations focusing on the processes and technology surrounding fundraising, membership, and communications. He has specialized in sales management as well as helping nonprofits leverage their technology to raise more money and forming partnerships that expand services and strengthen the service offerings for clients.
That philanthropic focus to his work comes naturally. As Steve explains, in Hebrew, the word for charity also translates to “righteousness.” “For me,” he says, “it’s just the right thing to do.” Serving this industry is borne out of his understanding that working to promote effective philanthropy makes the sector, and society, stronger and more cohesive.
Steve is currently putting his philanthropy skills to use serving as co-chair of the fundraising committee at his synagogue. He previously served on the board of Capital Health System Foundation through its $25M campaign.
