For Catherine Flaatten, philanthropy is the ultimate expression of the shared value of empathy. She is continually impressed and inspired by individuals and organizations that choose philanthropy, especially when it’s challenging to do so. It’s imperative to Catherine that her work helps make life better for other people.
At BWF, Catherine serves as associate vice president of prospect development. As a lead for this practice, she partners with clients to develop best-in-class, comprehensive solutions for their unique prospect research and relationship management needs.
Catherine currently serves as the president of Apra Metro DC and as co-chair of the AASP Best Practices in Prospect Development Committee, and she is a trustee of the Apra Foundation. Formerly, she also volunteered with a number of organizations, such as the Apra Membership Committee, Apra Body of Knowledge Committee, Apra PD Curriculum Planning Committee, Alexandria Choral Society, Beta Phi House Corporation for Alpha Delta Pi, and Senior Services of Alexandria.
When she’s not helping clients, she loves to spend time with her cat, Minnie, watch and analyze television, create embroidery projects, and solve puzzles.
