FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 2, 2023
Minneapolis, Minn.—

BWF is excited to announce significant enhancements to its Systems and Operations team, another signal of the continued growth the firm is experiencing. On May 1, the firm added two associate managing vice presidents for Systems Consulting: Karl Otto, who was promoted into the role and came to BWF from UC Berkeley, where he was the chief technology officer in University Development and Alumni Relations, and Kate Mead, who joined the team after 17 years at JCA Consulting. Together, these experienced leaders are responsible for managing and continuing to build the systems and operations team of consultants.

Otto and Mead, two incredibly talented leaders, will contribute to the continued success of the BWF Systems and Operations team. Otto specializes in databases, processes, and overall optimization of systems and operations. Mead’s expertise includes project management, system implementation, business process design and improvement, and training. In addition to having a technical background, she is a certified PMP.

The system and operations team has had incredible success during the past three years as it has continued to grow (quadrupling in size) and enhance its service offerings (into technical solutions and data warehousing, for example) under the strong leadership of Senior Vice President Jason Boley.

Along with the expansion of the team with Otto and Mead’s new roles, BWF recently announced a first-of-its-kind partnership with Redpath Consulting Group to provide expanded Salesforce services to meet the current and emerging technological needs of nonprofit clients. The partnership offers nonprofits and educational institutions innovative solutions for implementing and supporting Salesforce, ensuring fundraisers can maximize technology to accelerate philanthropic ROI to fulfill their missions.

As BWF continues to plan for future expansion, Katrina Klaproth, chief operating officer and president, Philanthropic Services, views this announcement as yet another example of the strategic investments the firm is making. “Just as we did with establishing the Slate and Redpath partnerships, we continue to ensure we are bringing greater expertise and expanded services to better serve nonprofits looking to meet the increasing demands on fundraising professionals.”
