aasp, BWF, and Lindauer Global will partner to conduct a career and salary survey in advancement services. “Gaining direct insight from leaders and professionals across the advancement services arena is critical for nonprofits to better shape their teams and engage, develop, and retain talented team members,” explains Lindauer Global CEO Deb Taft. “The 2023 study will give us forward-facing and actionable data.”
The survey will be distributed to aasp members as well as to BWF and Lindauer Global clients this spring. Both advancement services professionals and frontline advancement professionals will be invited to participate. Questions will gather insights and opinions on topics that include:
- Opportunities and challenges for Advancement Services professionals
- Career paths and options for the Advancement profession
- The role that DEI initiatives play in the workplace
- The impact of hybrid and remote work on the profession and on careers
- Salary trends and expectations for career advancement
Jessica LaBorde, aasp president, is eager to examine the changes that have come about since the start of the pandemic. “I’m thrilled that aasp is partnering with two industry leaders to bring this incredibly valuable study to our members. As we move forward into a very different landscape from just three years ago, these results will help us all make better decisions for our organizations.”
Survey results will be tabulated and analyzed over the summer and findings will be presented at the aasp Summit conference in September. In addition, a webinar open to a wider audience is scheduled for August.
BWF Principal Katrina Klaproth sees great value in understanding the needs and expectations of those serving in advancement services roles. “The business of philanthropy has become increasingly sophisticated over the last few decades. High-performing advancement services professionals are in demand now more than ever. The insights from this collaborative initiative will continue to illustrate the requirements to resource these critical teams within our advancement programs.”
