Tahsin Alam

Tahsin I. Alam is a consulting partner, Talent Management and Advancement Organization at BWF. As a consulting partner, he also serves as the Associate Vice President, Talent Management and Organizational Development at the Rutgers University Foundation and as a member of the Foundation President’s executive leadership group.

Mr. Alam is a higher education advancement industry veteran with over 15 years of experience in presidential and advancement professional searches who began his career as an associate with Isaacson Miller, a Boston-based national search firm. After 8 years of working with the development and alumni relations search practice, Mr. Alam went on to become a managing associate with the Nonprofit Professional Advisory Group (NPAG), a boutique consulting firm with clients across the nonprofit sector. There he served as a partner for the development and communications search practice, where in 4 years, the practice grew from inception to the most profitable practice at the firm. Tahsin is also experienced in conducting presidential, dean of faculty, and dean of student searches.

At the Rutgers University Foundation, Tahsin oversees the recruitment, on-boarding, performance appraisal, professional development, and retention of professional fundraisers, alumni relations professionals, and advancement staff. His team includes the human resources function for all employees as well as foundation operations. He is in charge of organizational change and management, having reconstructed several of the departments at the Foundation, and has led senior team retreats focused on increasing workflow, efficiency, and collaboration across a multitude of functions within an advancement operation. Mr. Alam holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in politics, economics and theater from Bates College. He is a native of Bangladesh.
