The Current State of Healthcare Donors: New Research on the Impact of COVID and Other Trends

For the past 21 years, BWF has conducted research to gauge the perceptions and opinions of affluent Americans toward making philanthropic decisions and contributions to hospitals and healthcare institutions.  Our latest survey, distributed in March of this year, asked donors about the impact of the pandemic on their giving, their giving priorities, their future event attendance, as well as other factors that impact their contributions to healthcare. Bill Littlejohn, Senior VP and CEO of the Foundation of Sharp HealthCare, included some of his major donors in the survey and joined Betsy Rigby of BWF to discuss the survey results and how he and his team will incorporate the findings. Participants had the opportunity for small group discussions about how the results relate to their experiences of this past year.
