Brisbane, Australia
Looking ahead to managing both a growing base of philanthropic partners and an ambitious campaign, the University of Queensland (UQ) needed an assessment of the operational activities and workflows that make up a gift’s lifecycle.
UQ’s primary interest was strengthening their data, processes, policies, and technologies in alignment with best practices and positioning the gift lifecycle as an avenue to bolster a donor’s trust in and relationship with UQ.
The final report provided recommendations to ensure a top-notch donor experience and best-in-class stewardship and management of philanthropic contributions. Specifically, the recommendations focused on opportunities for adjustments to the operating model, structure, and technology leveraged within gift administration, finance, and donor relations functions. UQ used the report to bring about key changes including repositioning gift acceptance practices, increasing recognition of the gift lifecycle’s impact by the university community and leadership, and implementing new policies, workflows, and technology changes to benefit both donors and staff.
“Our collaboration with BWF meant that the University of Queensland is now a leader in gift management and stewardship in Australia. Ultimately, this project helped us provide a more positive end-to-end donor experience and to ensure philanthropic gifts achieve their maximum impact.”Jennifer KarlsonPro-Vice-Chancellor of Advancement • University of Queensland
