What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

If you complete a contact form on our website, the data collected may include name, title, organization, email, and phone number, as well as any additional comments you provide. If you complete a contact form, you may opt-in to receive sales and marketing communications from Bentz Whaley Flessner.

We utilize MailChimp to send marketing emails and data collected through our forms is stored in their system.  See MailChimp Privacy Policy.

We do not deliver third party online advertisements on our Site, but we may advertise our services on others’ web sites. You should familiarize yourself with those web site privacy policies/statements to understand their privacy practices.

We may disclose Information to any successor-in-interest of ours, such as, but not limited to, a company that acquires us.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

We strive to maintain reasonable data security measures. However, no security measures are invulnerable to attack. We are not responsible for the security of your PII that you transmit to us over networks that we do not control, including, but not limited to, wireless networks. Children’s Privacy

Our Site and services are not intended for users younger than 13 years of age.  Accordingly, we will not knowingly collect or use any PII from children that we know are under 13 years of age.  In addition, we will delete any Information in our database that we know originates from a child under the age of 13.

We reserve the right to modify, add or remove any terms and conditions in this Privacy Statement without prior notice or liability to you. Any changes we make will be effective immediately following posting on the Site.

 

If you are subscribed to our mailing list with a valid e-mail address, you will receive an announcement from us indicating an update to the Privacy Statement has been made.
