For Wendy Jaccard, going to work in university advancement may have been a fluke, but she quickly realized she’d found her niche. Working in systems and operations provides Wendy with the ideal combination of applying her logic skills with her ability to connect disparate parts and pieces into a coherent whole.
Wendy helps clients achieve their missions and goals in advancement services and donor relations/stewardship through projects that involve business process design and improvement, system implementations, data/database review, and conversion mapping assistance.
The fact that philanthropy enables nonprofits to make the world a better place inspires Wendy. She’s seen firsthand the impact of connecting donors with scholarship recipients, who both can share their stories. Donors tell of honoring loved ones by naming a scholarship in their honor, while students describe struggling against adversity to get where they are and sharing their plans for the future.
“In the long history of humankind (and animal kind, too) those who learned to collaborate and improvise most effectively have prevailed.” Charles Darwin
When not focused on advancement systems and operations, Wendy enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, doing needlework, and “working on my old house.”
