MINNEAPOLIS, May 5, 2020—Josh Birkholz, Katrina Klaproth, and Mark Marshall, principals of the global fundraising consultancy BWF, are excited to announce the addition of Tahsin Alam as a Consulting Partner for Talent Management and Advancement Organization.

BWF’s Consulting Partners program encourages highly talented industry professionals to bring their expertise to BWF as an external partner providing targeted counsel and strategic planning to its clients, while maintaining a concurrent position with their philanthropic organization.

A higher education advancement industry veteran with over 15 years of experience in presidential and advancement professional searches, Tahsin is a nationally recognized leader in philanthropic organizational development. The first 12 years of Tahsin’s career included roles at two of the country’s leading search firms dedicated to non-profits, having worked in the development and alumni relations search practice at the former and co-built the practice at the latter. Tahsin has also conducted presidential, dean of faculty, and dean of student level searches.

Currently at the Rutgers University Foundation, Tahsin oversees the recruitment, on-boarding, performance appraisal, professional development and retention of professional fundraisers, alumni relations professionals and advancement staff. His team includes the human resources function for all employees as well as foundation operations. He oversees organizational change and management, having reconstructed several of the departments at the Foundation, and has led senior team retreats focused on increasing workflow, efficiency and collaboration across a multitude of functions within an advancement operation.
