BWF is excited to welcome back Alexander Oftelie as a managing associate of the BWF Insight Division. From 2007–2013 Alex helped build BWF’s first analytics practice, DonorCast. He worked to bring analytics to the forefront of philanthropy and partnered with hundreds of leading non-profits to create innovative, measurable solutions.
After BWF, Alex went on to have successful careers at both Gallup and IBM. Most recently at IBM, Alex was a non-profit subject matter expert where he specialized in helping clients understand and demonstrate the impact of business analytics on fundraising and engagement efforts of non-profits throughout North America. Beyond his work with IBM’s leading non-profit clients, Alex carried an extensive portfolio of financial services, industrial manufacturing, and large retail clients. His breadth of experience with leading analytics shops across all sectors will benefit BWF and BWF Insight analytics partners.
He is a recognized leader, speaker, and trainer for CASE, AHP, and Apra and holds a Bachelor of Arts from St. Olaf College and a Masters of Public Affairs from the University of Minnesota. Alex was on the National Alumni Board for the University of Minnesota Alumni Association from 2010–2016. He was recently presented the distinguished alumni service award from UMAA.
Alex will oversee all analytics projects, trainings, and implementation. His specific areas of expertise include predictive modeling, business impact analysis, survey design and sampling methodology, analytics training, and analytics implementation.
