South Bend Native Gives Notre Dame $20 Million Gift for New Campus Residence Hall

South Bend native John Baumer and his wife, Mollie, have made a $20 million gift to the university for construction of Baumer Hall, a men’s residence hall that will open in August, the university announced Wednesday.

Mayo Clinic Receives $5 Million Donation for Cancer Center

Mayo Clinic Health System Franciscan Healthcare announced a $5 million donation to its La Crosse cancer center Tuesday morning. Antonin Scalia Law School Receives $50 Million: Largest Gift in George Mason History

George Mason University announced today that the Antonin Scalia Law School has received a gift of more than $50 million, a bequest from the estate of the late Judge Allison M. Rouse and Mrs. Dorothy B. Rouse. The largest gift received in George Mason history, the bequest will create a permanent endowment—the Allison and Dorothy Rouse Endowment—to support 13 new faculty chairs of approximately $4 million each.

With $5.25 Million Gift to UCSB Tennis Program, It’s Advantage Gauchos

Together with his wife Jody, Arnhold (’75), a trustee of the UCSB Foundation, has donated $5.25 million to UCSB athletics in support of its women’s and men’s tennis teams. Their goal: to enhance the experience of student-athletes and their fellow Gauchos, as well as of the broader community.

$2.8 Million Gift Funds Scholarships for KU Med Students

The University of Kansas School of Medicine says a gift of more than $2.8 million will fund scholarships for medical students. The school announced the gift from the estate of Alton and Helen Knechtel, of Chula Vista, California, on Thursday. The two were Kansas natives who graduated from Kansas universities.

Zilber Family Foundation Gives $2.5 Million to Support UWM’s School of Public Health

The Zilber Family Foundation is giving $2.5 million to support scholarships at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Joseph J. Zilber School of Public Health. The UWM Zilber School of Public Health at the former Pabst Brewery site. The gift to the UWM Foundation brings the Zilber Foundation’s total support for the school to more than $12 million since 2007.
