O’Neal Industries Donates $30 Million to UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center

Birmingham-based O’Neal Industries has given the University of Alabama at Birmingham Comprehensive Cancer Center $30 million to expand patient care and research, the university announced.

The gift from O’Neal Industries – a family-owned global company – and its shareholders is the largest single gift in UAB’s history.

Virginia Tech Lands Record $50 Million Gift for Biomedical Research

Virginia Tech announced it will receive a record $50 million gift to support biomedical research, a landmark donation for the public university that will expand the influence of its academic health center in Roanoke.

Ronald and Debra Perelman Announce Perelman Family Foundation Makes Lead Gift for New Residential College at Princeton University

Ronald O. Perelman and Debra G. Perelman announced that the Perelman Family Foundation is making the lead gift to establish a new residential college at Princeton University. The construction of Perelman College will advance one of Princeton’s highest strategic priorities — the expansion of the undergraduate population by around 10 percent.

KUA Receives $20 Million for Endowment

Kimball Union Academy has received a gift of $20 million to its endowment, the largest in the 206-year-old boarding school’s history.

KUA said the donor wished to remain anonymous, but the school said in a news release that it was a “transformative gift” that was “a testament to the impact the school has on the lives of its students and community.”

UNCW to Use Record-Setting $10 Million Gift to Create New School

Alumnus David Congdon and his wife Helen donated $10 million to the University of North Carolina Wilmington, which will help the university create a new school under the Cameron School of Business. It’s the largest monetary gift ever received by UNCW.

The school will be called the “David S. Congdon School of Supply Chain, Business Analytics and Information Systems.”

Tyson Family’s $6 Million Gift Leads Renovation, Expansion of UA’s Randal Tyson Track Center

The University of Arkansas athletics department and the Razorback Foundation announced a $6 million donation from the Tyson family. The money will be used to help support the cost of renovating and expanding the University of Arkansas’ Randal Tyson Track Center, a 5,500-seat indoor facility in south Fayetteville.

Couple’s $33M Gift the Largest in History of University of Michigan Law School

The University of Michigan has received a $33 million gift from Chris and Lisa Jeffries, whose donation will support the UM Law School.

The gift from the couple was announced during the Board of Regents meeting by outgoing Director of Development Jerry May.

Salesianum Announces $16 Million Gift to Rebuild Baynard Stadium

Rocco Abessinio remembers playing football on a new field at Baynard Stadium in the 1950s.

The next time high school football is played at that location, it will be on a new field inside Abessinio Stadium.

Salesianum announced that Abessinio has donated $16 million to fund construction of a new stadium across the street from the school and to boost Salesianum’s endowment, which provides financial aid to students.
