Lani McCollar is an associate at Bentz Whaley Flessner where she focuses on capital campaigns, development program audits, board leadership and development, and the growth and overall health of giving programs. Ms. McCollar brings nearly 20 years of experience working and volunteering for multiple nonprofit organizations in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. McCollar served as Director of Institutional Advancement for Groves Academy, where she oversaw their unprecedented growth in individual major giving, outreach programming, strategic community connections, and two successful capital campaigns. She also served Metropolitan State University Foundation as Director of Development leading alumni in giving and engagement, as well as the endowment campaign for their newly combined university and community-based library.
Additionally, Ms. McCollar has professionally consulted for CLUES (Comunidades Latinas Unidas en Servicio), People Incorporated, The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities, St. Mary’s Foundation Fund, and Family Pathways. She received her B.B.A. from the Henry B. Tippie Business School at The University of Iowa, and a condensed M.B.A. in Nonprofit Administration from the University of St. Thomas. She has served on the board of The Junior League of Minneapolis and leader of the Minnesota Chapter Challenge issued by The National Philoptochos Society; the second largest women’s philanthropic organization in the country.
