James P. Daniel is an executive associate at Bentz Whaley Flessner. He offers more than a quarter-century of advancement experience in major gifts strategy, campaign planning and management, advancement program analysis, and staff and board development. Before joining the firm, Dr. Daniel served as vice president for development at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. Previously, he has served as vice president for institutional advancement at Buena Vista University, and as director of development for the medical school and hospitals at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He has served nonprofit boards as chair of a city planning commission, as a trustee of numerous nonprofit organizations, and in the lobbies of Congress and state legislatures.
Dr. Daniel received his Doctorate in Philosophy from Duquesne University. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary’s University in Minnesota. He is a member of CASE, AFP, and the Minnesota Council on Planned Giving. He has spoken at CASE Conferences, planned giving associations, and at AFP meetings.
