Program Brings Top Minds in Biotech to Georgia

The Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholars. All told, 60 researchers -- 37 in biotechnology -- are now probing the frontiers of science at Georgia's research universities, thanks to the GRA's program, which recruits leading researchers in their field to the Peach State.

Atlanta Selected as Site for National Health Museum

The National Health Museum, which has displayed its collection on
the Internet since it was founded in 1997 and at events it
sponsored, has selected Atlanta for its new home and plans to
build a 190,000-square-foot museum in the city, reports Cox News
Service.

The organization said it chose Atlanta because it is already
home to several major health institutions, including the American
Cancer Society, the Arthritis Foundation, and the Centers for
Disease Control, the news service reports.

Museum organizers plan to conduct a fund-raising drive to seek
money for the new facility.

Georgia Aquarium Keeps Title as World's Biggest With $110-Million Expansion

The Georgia Aquarium has announced plans to build a $110-million, 1.5 million-gallon expansion, holding on to its reputation as the “world’s largest aquarium”.

Woodruff Foundation may be Grady's big benefactor

The Robert W. Woodruff Foundation, Atlanta's largest philanthropy, has emerged as the most probable source of a $200 million bailout for Grady Memorial Hospital.

The identity of the donor has been a mystery since last summer when the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce announced that an anonymous donor was willing to provide a major amount of money to save the foundering hospital.
