Jennifer McDonough is a partner at Bentz Whaley Flessner with more than 10 years experience with the firm. Ms. McDonough has broad expertise in the design and leadership of overall advancement programs, strategic planning, staff, board, volunteer and institutional partner training, and the organization, execution and evaluation of campaigns. Her consulting practice has focused on higher education and has also included organizations in the healthcare, arts, and cultural arenas. Ms. McDonough previously served as vice president for university advancement at the University of Buffalo and as vice president for development and alumni relations at the University of Vermont. The scope of her oversight at these institutions included major comprehensive campaigns and annual, major and planned giving, constituent development, prospect research, advancement services, development communications, donor relations, and alumni and parent relations programs.
Ms. McDonough has spent over twenty-five years in the not-for-profit sector including advancement positions within both public and private higher education at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst School of Business, Saint Bonaventure University, and Canisius College. Earlier in her career, Ms. McDonough held posts at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the U.S. Department of Education, both in Washington, DC, as well as with the Indiana State Education Department.
Ms. McDonough earned a bachelor of science degree in arts education with additional concentrations in special education and art therapy as well as a master of science degree in arts management, both from the State University College at Buffalo.
Ms. McDonough has been a speaker at conferences sponsored by Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and SUNY CUAD.
